Über dieses Lied
Dieses Lied habe ich in der Adventszeit 2019 geschrieben. So schön es ist eine Familie zu haben, kommt die Zeit als Paar leider oft zu kurz. Wenn man gerade dabei ist, miteinander zu reden, wird man schnell unterbrochen. Auch wenn ich meine Kinder und meine Familie über alles liebe, so vermisse ich doch Gespräche mit meinem Mann. Sobald wir ein Gespräch beginnen, werden wir auch schon wieder unterbrochen. In der Weihnachtszeit herrscht bei uns eine sehr gemütliche, magische Stimmung; wir backen Plätzchen, basteln, zünden Kerzen an und die Kinder schreiben ihre Wunschzettel. In dieser Atmosphäre dachte ich, ich schreibe auch einen an meinen Mann. Das Lied ist das Ergebnis, denn es gibt nur einen Wunsch - mehr Zeit zu zweit. Bis zum Frühjar 2020 haben wir natürlich auch ab und zu einen Babysitter organisiert und sind ausgegagngen. Aber mit der Pandemie fiel der Teil weg, und das Lied wurde somit noch aktueller. In diesem Sinne ist dieses Lied auch kein klassisches Weihnachtslied - genau wie Joni Mitchell's song River ist es ein Liebenslied, das sich zur Weihnachtszeit abspielt.

About the song
I wrote this song during the Christmas time of 2019. My husband and I have two wonderful children - and although we are a very happy family, time as a couple has become rare. As much as I love my children and my family I also miss talking to my husband. The moment we start having a conversation it is interrupted. Around Christmas time there is a very cosy, magical atmosphere around the house, we are baking biscuits, we are lighting candles, and our children are writing wishlists. In all this atmosphere, I decided to write one, too, to my husband. In the song, I am saying that I am writing him a wishlist with nothing much on it - just one wish actually. Time as a couple. I go on to explain that everyday life has swallowed time and that we should go find it to search all the conversations that have been lost. Until the spring of 2020, we hired a sitter sometime and went out but due to the pandemic, this stopped altogether and the song became even more accurate. So, this is not really a Christmas song - much like Joni Mitchell's song River, it is a love song that takes place around Christmastime.
