This is the unplugged version of Being in Love, the first song I ever wrote on the guitar when I spent a year in Westcliff-on-Sea, England, in 1991.
I'd written a few songs on the piano before, but for me, Being In Love was my first "official" song. I kind of felt reborn after I'd written it! Musically, the song is the same as I wrote it back then. However, I decided to revise the lyrics. Nonetheless, the song is still telling the same story. On my way to work in early December, I saw Venus rising. So I thought, why not do something with stars? So I wrote the first two verses, and the chorus and the third verse kind of wrote themselves after that. I also love having a small reference to Star Trek in the lyrics since I am a huge Trekkie.
