This is a song for all cat lovers out there, and for those who need - once more - a little comfort. I wrote this in March 2022 and immediately recorded this acoustic version.

If you need comfort, pets can do a lot for you. It doesn't really matter whether it's your cat, your dog, or your guinea pig - they all love you without any condition and have their own unique way of showing it.

In my case, it's cats; always has been. When I'm having a bad day, there's no better comfort than a purring cat that snuggles up with me.

There are other things. A friend's hug or just hearing a friend's voice, music, of course, a book, or a glass of wine...more things come to mind that didn't make it into the song. How about a bath or a walk in the sun? How about buying yourself flowers? Or a record? ;-)

For the song, I thought about three challenging situations in which we might need comfort. Fear or anxiety, sadness or grief, and exhaustion. There are probably a few more situations but I wanted to keep the song short. No matter how bad you might feel - a little thing can make such a difference!

And yes, the sound you hear at the end of the song is the purring of both our cats, Alexa and Juno!

It goes without saying that No Animals Were Harmed during production. Otherwise, the cats wouldn't have purred. ;-)
